David R M Murray
Co-Founder | Ordior | Ordior Media | Global Director, IP Asset Banking & International Commercial Strategy
David R. M. Murray is a globally respected strategist, financier, and cross-border dealmaker with more than 40
years of experience across international banking, capital markets, resource development, and high-value intellectual
property (IP) governance. As the Global Director of IP Asset Banking & International Commercial Strategy at
ORDIOR, David brings a rare ability to unite banking discipline with the technical and commercial realities
of managing large-scale entertainment, media, and cultural IP portfolios.
A co-founder of ORDIOR and the organisation’s former Global Managing Director
(2013–2015), David helped architect ORDIOR’s foundational commercial model: the fusion of rights validation,
metadata forensics, international royalty recovery, and IP-backed commercial structuring. His leadership established
ORDIOR’s global presence across the USA, UK, Africa, Europe, and Asia, and he continues to play a pivotal role in
shaping ORDIOR’s international expansion and strategic partnerships. David has been there at the very begining and a
guiding light in the background ever since.
David’s four decades in global finance include leading roles in venture capital,
derivative finance, structured project banking, and sovereign-level negotiation. His work spans the founding of
Derivative Funds Management (DFM) Bermuda, the creation of Australia’s first socially responsible investment firm
SRI Securities Ltd, and funding pipelines that have supported multinational resource projects, energy developments,
and cross-border infrastructure.
This background gives him a uniquely sophisticated understanding of IP as an asset
class—how it is valued, how it must be protected, and how it can be monetised across global markets.
His commercial experience extends deeply across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Africa, where
he has negotiated government agreements, structured major exploration and energy deals, and designed capital
pathways for projects exceeding USD $20M–$200M in scale. He brings this same calibre of financial governance and
stakeholder engagement to ORDIOR’s mission: transforming entertainment IP into bankable, traceable, investment-grade
digital assets.
David’s mining and resource-sector experience further strengthens his IP commercial
strategy role. Having overseen multi-jurisdictional projects in China, PNG, Tanzania, Angola, and the UK — including
major gas discoveries, energy recovery operations, and large-scale exploration programs — he is fluent in the legal,
cultural, and operational complexities that mirror the challenges of global IP rights management. His ability to
navigate political, regulatory, and financial landscapes ensures ORDIOR operates with institutional clarity wherever
our IP clients reside.
Global Director, IP Asset Banking & International Commercial Strategy, David leads
ORDIOR’s strategic push into IP asset banking, a rapidly growing sector where entertainment rights,
catalogues, trademarks, masters, metadata, and digital earnings are increasingly treated as securitisable assets. He
works closely with international law firms, investment funds, trustees, rights holders, estates, and financial
institutions to structure deals that unlock long-term value, reduce risk, and stabilise royalty income through
transparent governance frameworks.
His remit includes developing:
- IP-backed asset banking models
- investment-grade rights valuation frameworks
- global royalty risk auditing systems
- clean-and-polish governance protocols
- international revenue recovery pathways
- cross-border commercial agreements
- rightsholder protection standards
- institutional-friendly IP reporting and securitisation tools
With a leadership style defined by calm strategic judgment, cultural fluency, and
uncompromising integrity, David is one of the rare executives able to bridge finance, IP governance,
entertainment law, sovereign negotiation, and commercial asset structuring at a global level.
His reputation — built from mining camps to ministerial offices to international
boardrooms — reinforces ORDIOR’s mission to become the world’s premier authority in rights governance, IP
verification, digital asset protection, and commercialisation.
